as for e details for trip to taiwan.. i shall leave it till later.. coz firstly, my camera memory card died on me..and i couldnt take photos for this trip.. so all the photos are with ger. i'll upload photos.. plus accounts of wad happened there when i get the photos.. meanwhile i gotta go pack my bag for sports camp. i think my bag's overflowing.. and oh yea. once again, i heard that there's fright nite.. YAY. why am i subjecting myself to such torment yet again? now im like kinda regretting signing up for this camp in the first place.. ="( |

first day of camp..we were divided into 4 ogs.. naming hur (fish), hay (prawn), lalang (some cockel) and hum(another type of cockel).. i was in hur. first day of coz it was the usual ice breakers stuff. everybody was a bit bochup lah i guess. but luckily there were pple i knew in the og.. for eg. shuhui from my 1st 3 months og group.. den there was regina from rulang 6U last time. so not too bad lah. but we lost like almost everything on the first day... at nite, we left for sentosa to camp overnite there.. had to sleep in sleeping bag.. den it was damn jialat. coz the floor was so hard.. and at nite it began to rain..den the rain splashed and woke some of us up.. =.= second day of camp.. beach games. loads of fun. the og was beginning to get comfortable with one another. so there was more team spirit.. and we wanted to win coz we lost everything on the first day. haha. so pple were more enthu lo. as we begin to win more and more games.. we sorta drew unwanted attention to ourselves.. the other 3 ogs started to join forces and attack our og.. it was saddening and demoralising.. the og kinda felt ostracized.. but it was all these that bonded the og i guess. 2nd nite was spent in hostel! 3 pple shared a room and we had bed to sleep on (heavenly!) third day of camp.. the amazing food race day. it was a day spent running arnd e west side areas.. playing station games and getting food.. we finished the 5 stations. and our ogl, jing li suggested that we haf dinner outside coz we had leftover money.. some of us were like quite reluctant coz they already had packed dinner in sch for us.. and we would be wasting food and money if we go out to eat. but we did not want to go against our ogl either.. so we went for dinner and reached sch at like 7+pm.. for a while, we could feel all the other ogs staring at us.. den as we sat down at our benches to discuss bout stuff.. a fight broke out between our ogl and one of the chief programmers, say heng.. initially it was quite shocking.. but after a while, it was like... abit fake. end up it was a big prank played on everyone of us.. this prank is known as the "HUMAN CLUEDO" 2006... they started to explain things to us.. saying that things for the past few days were all scripted.. some of our og pple were like damn angry..coz we were like pawns of this whole thing. and alot of us cried. coz they felt like their feelings were being played on. some of them even wanted to leave camp for this reason.. aiyah. it was a really really long story. it cannot be explained in a few sentences here.. for more info, maybe u wanna ask me bout it personally. fourth/fifth day of camp. sea sports day. we left for raffles marina club in e morning.. we had the opportunity to kayak, ride the banana boat and do wakeboarding! it was fun! especially wakeboarding.. i could stand up for a while but soon fall back into the sea.. if got e opportunity, i would wanna go again lah! hahaha. after sea sports.. we had to go back to ntu. that nite, we had to put up a play which involved some fairytale characters.. coz our theme for the camp was twisted fairytales.. i was saboed to act as the white witch from narnia. and i realised i cannot act. hahahaha.. i look too kind to be a witch. LOL. and after that, we had the last programme for the camp.. which was "fright night 2006". it was an overnight thing.. kairu and i were partners and we had to go thru the different routes together. but we didnt scream at all.. it was quite funny in fact... by the end of it.. everybody was damn shagged lah.. after a short video presentation, it was time to break camp already.. the above are just short summaries of wad happened at the camp. actually alot more things happened.. just that im too lazy to type in full details. leaving for taiwan on tues! when i return. it will be 7 days of sports camp! :) |

introducing the new addition to my wallet today!  my nice licence! hahaa.. i stupidly went to join the queue when i could haf just collected my licence at a specified counter with nobody lo.. thank god ger pointed out early man. today or rather yday was spent at freezing jurong east library with ger browsing thru taiwan travel guidebook.. we were planning the places that we will be going to visit during the one day free and easy in taiwan. n we were oso thinking if it's worth it to travel to a far away place from taipei and get ourselves lost in e middle of nowhere or we shld just stick to shopping at ximending.. any suggestions anyone? bumped into farui on bus 198.. such a coincidence. thou will become his senior in ntu two yrs later. :) |

and oh, i finally opened an uob savings account today.. i've been saying i wanna open since bout half a yr ago.. actually wanted to open campus account.. but cannot coz dun haf the ntu student card!! ahhh... :( so ended up opening savings lo.. n becoz i was going back to the call centre to visit my ex-colleagues so i decided i shld expediate my application for debit card.. damn cheapskate i know.. but SHUN BIAN mah.. haha... so on my application form. got the "URGENT" stamp. hahahahaha.. so hopefully i can get it before i fly off to taiwan.. at least got card.. for emergency purpose. let's hope i wun use it.. and so much things have changed at the call centre.. it's bout 3 months after i left.. the whole MSD (membership service department) da feng chui (in english terms - big wind blow).. so many pple left. so many pple got promoted.. so many new faces.. new sitting arrangements! i was quite lost when i went back.. until i started seeing familiar faces. esther, vincent, janet, raymond, dennis, lawrence, say kheng, kar hai, aishah, geok in, janet, evelyn, alvin, sarah, jamie, shyanne etc... haven seen them for so long! couldnt talk to alot of them for long coz.. most of them are on B shift.. 3 to 11pm.. but luckily the call flow very light.. so they were like talking to us most of the time (slacking!).. but the most saddening thing of all.. is that my fave person in uob has left! my tl, sze lin has gone to brisbane to do her masters! sigh. she left like last week.. n she will be away for 1.5 yrs! sigh.. if i went back last week, maybe still can bump into her... :( i msged her in e day to tell her that lixian and i are going back to visit.. den she actually emailed dennis to inform him that we're going back and asked him to send her regards to us! so nice right? it's uob's loss that she's left the company.. i sincerely hope that she'll do well in australia! :) anyway, after visiting, kar hair treated lixian and i to dinner at crystal jade. he always treat us.. so nice lah.. as usual, we were bitching bout the customers and pple in the call centre.. hahahaa.. =X den he sent us home by taking cab! wahh. feel very bad.. coz we went back empty handed.. but it was nice visiting them! nice to catch up with them once in a while.. :) i shall visit them whenever i haf the time in future!! |

there's always a first time for everything.. yesterday, i had alot of first time experiences. not long after i woke up (which was arnd 12 noon), my dad excitedly asked me to drive him to the market to get lunch for the family. so for the first time, i sat in my dad's car as a driver, not as a passenger! exciting! hahaha. but it was only a short distance to the market.. better than nothing right? the first time i drove a car without the 'L' plate hanging at the back.. haha.. and for the first time, i haf to park without guide poles! it was T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. my dad had to practically tell me when to turn the steering wheel.. coz he feared that i langga into the car parked beside mine. dad's verdict to me: driving ok. parking... not very ok. hahahaha. and for the very first time, my student ez-link card expired without me knowing! (ok how many times can an ez-link card expire.) but that's not e point.. when i boarded 187 to lakeside mrt station, my card couldnt be used. so i ended up paying by coins.. i thought my ez-link no more money.. but den again, i was so wrong. i tried to top it at the station but i was rejected coz the card expired. so i was stranded. i didnt wan to buy the green colour card that's single trip coz it's wayyyy too expensive.. and i had to take several buses.. so it was quite troublesome.. so end up i called my dad.. he came, sent me to clementi mrt station plus a new ez-link card. i went thru all these trouble to give my very first tuition to a p5 kid. i boarded 156 at clementi interchange.. and i counted 7 stops.. and alighted. den i realised i alighted at the wrong stop!! i was like stranded outside the army barracks area.. so i called my tutee and asked for directions.. i was told that i alighted one stop early.. but u noe that area has no pavement for pedestrians.. it was like an expressway.. so i decided to take bus for one stop (stupidly waste money). ended up i oso have to walk the distance of another busstop to the guard house of the condo.. and after much hassle, i finally reached my tutee's house... tuition was ok. she was ok. but when she asked me bout the structure of an egg, i couldnt answer her!! sigh. i didnt take bio. :( and for the first time, i registered for my faculty's camp without being "invited" to go for it.. so thick skinned, i know. haha. many first times for a day huh? |
